TINY ACORNS UPDATE: Tiny Acorns will be returning on Friday mornings & afternoons from the 2nd of April. We are fully booked at present, and the waiting list is closed.
Tiny Acorns is a Forest School group for children (1–5 years) and their parents or carers, which takes place on Friday mornings between 10am & 12pm or 1pm & 3pm during term time.
There are a range of lovely activities for you to participate in if you wish which are always there – painting, clay modelling, mud cookery, rope climbing, sharing a story, natural crafts and den building – as well as activities inspired or provided by the weather and changing seasons. Put simply, we play with whatever nature has to offer as we go along. However, if you like exploring undisturbed, the tranquil environment and relaxed atmosphere lend themselves perfectly to quiet wandering.
If you home educate and have an older sibling up to the age of 6 as well as a toddler, you are very welcome to bring them along too. Forest school is responsive to the needs and interests of all participants.
We gather around the fire for elevenses mid session.
It is our aim to run Tiny Acorns throughout as much of the year as possible. Sessions take place weekly from February half-term to December, and not at all during January.
Dress for the weather. We would advise bringing waterproofs for little ones so they can fully immerse themseves. Clothes that cover the whole body are also advised to protect from insects.
