Tiny Acorns is a weekly Forest School group for pre-school children and their carers, which takes place on Fridays.
Each group is a closed group of 10 families. Parking space is limited so each family is allocated one parking space only. If you want to bring a grandparent, your partner, or an older sibling (up to age 7) who is home educated, flexi-schooled or has broken up for their holidays – they are very welcome as long as you can all fit in one car!
How do I sign up?
If you would like to join Tiny Acorns please add yourself to our waiting list here, selecting all the time slots which work for your family. We will be in touch as soon as a space becomes available.
What happens at a Tiny Acorns Session?
When you arrive, we will greet you in the car park and show you where to go.
There are things you can do every week, such as painting, mud kitchen, bug hunting, rope climbing, sharing a story, natural crafts and den building. Then there are now-and-again things inspired by the weather and changing seasons, such as leaf trampolines, puddle boats, making evergreen wreaths or ice decorations.
If you like exploring undisturbed, or chilling out in a hammock, the tranquil environment lends itself perfectly to that. Tiny Acorns is for the whole family. We want it to be as relaxing and inspiring for you as it is for your child.
We gather around the fire for refreshments mid-session and have circle time at the end. At circle time we sing a song or two, and you can let us know what you enjoyed or might like to do at the next session.
When circle time comes around, if your child is really into what they’re doing elsewhere, or not feeling like circle time today, that’s OK with us.
What do I need to bring?
Dress for the weather. We would advise bringing waterproofs for little ones so they can fully immerse themselves, and a change of clothes just in case. Clothes that cover the whole body are needed year-round to protect from insects, especially ticks, which can carry Lyme’s disease.
At home time
